WAN是什么

WAN是英文Wide Area Network的首字母所写，即代表广域网；而LAN则是Local Area Network的所写，即本地网（或叫局域网）。 

从它们的名称上我们就不难看出，WAN口主要用于连接外部网络，如ADSL、DDN、以太网等各种接入线路；而LAN口用来连接家庭内部网络，主要与家庭网络中的交换机、集线器或PC相连。可以说这两类网口一类对外，一类对内。

WAN口作用：路由器上的WAN口是用来连接外网，或者说是连接宽带运营商的设备的。例如**线上网时WAN口用来连接Moden；光钎上网时，WAN口用来连接光猫；网线入户上网时，WAN口用来连接入户网线。

LAN口作用：而路由器上的LAN口，是用来连接内网（局域网）中的设备的，主要是用来连接电脑、交换机、打印机等设备的。

常见的局域网拓朴结构如下：

1、树形

树形结构网络是天然的分级结构，又被称为分级的集中式网络。其特点是网络成本低，结构比较简单。在网络中，任意两个节点之间不产生回路，每个链路都支持双向传输，并且，网络中节点扩充方便、灵活，寻查链路路径比较简单。

2、星形

这种结构的网络是各工作站以星形方式连接起来的，网中的每一个节点设备都以中防节为中心，通过连接线与中心 节点相连，如果一个工作站需要传输数据，它首先必须通过中心节点。
